Elegant Wedding Stationery Inspired by Cripps Barn
Tucked away in the heart of the Cotswolds countryside, Cripps Barn is one of those wedding venues that feels effortlessly romantic. With its warm Cotswold stone, soaring beams and soft countryside surroundings, it was the perfect inspiration for this elegant bespoke wedding stationery collection.
For this suite, I wanted to create something timeless and refined, whilst still feeling warm and personal. The design centred around a hand-drawn illustration of Cripps Barn itself — carefully illustrated on my iPad to capture the character and charm of this beautiful Gloucestershire venue.
The invitation suite paired deep navy envelopes with delicate white floral details, creating a classic colour palette that feels both modern and romantic. I love how the richness of the navy contrasts against the softness of the florals and fine artwork, giving the entire suite a luxurious yet understated feel.
A Hand-Drawn Illustration of Cripps Barn
One of my favourite parts of designing bespoke wedding invitations is creating venue illustrations. There is something incredibly special about incorporating a meaningful place into wedding stationery, especially somewhere as iconic as Cripps Barn.
The illustration became the focal point of the suite and was used throughout the design to create a cohesive look across the invitation set. Including creating cute little order of the day for each guest. Venue illustrations add such a personal touch and instantly give guests a glimpse into the setting and atmosphere of the wedding day ahead.
For couples getting married in the Cotswolds, illustrated wedding stationery is also a beautiful way to celebrate the landscape and architecture that make these venues so memorable.
Navy Wedding Invitations with White Florals
The colour palette for this collection was inspired by classic English elegance. The deep navy envelopes brought a sophisticated and luxurious feel, whilst the white floral details softened the design beautifully.
To finish the suite, each invitation was wrapped with a personalised belly band, adding texture and refinement whilst keeping all of the stationery neatly together. Belly bands are one of my favourite finishing touches for luxury wedding invitations as they instantly elevate the overall presentation.
This combination of navy, white florals and fine illustration felt perfectly suited to the rustic yet elegant atmosphere of Cripps Barn.
