Ella & James’ Merris Court Wedding
Merris Court was the perfect backdrop for Ella & James’ winter wedding last December. Cosy, stylish and brimming with personal touches, their wedding day (including their stationery) reflected them both as a couple in the most beautiful way. From our very first conversation, it was clear to me that they wanted a wedding day that felt thoughtful, elegant and unique. It was an honour to play a part in bringing that vision to life.
A Christmas Wedding
As the couple were tying the knot during the middle of December, they loved the idea of having subtle Christmassy touches throughout their styling, but without it feeling too traditional or obvious. The goal was subtle luxury, with refined festival details that elevated the space and the experience for their guests.
Bespoke Christmas Crackers
Being tasked with the project of making 100 bespoke Christmas crackers to go in each place setting, doubling up as luxurious place names and also wedding favours, has been one of my favourite projects to date! Each cracker held a delicate bauble gift for their friends and family to hang on their Christmas trees at home, along with a handwritten note from the couple. We used the same deep velvet green shade as the groom’s jacket to tie their colour palette together, before each cracker was finished with a beautiful black ribbon. Not only were the crackers a fun and thoughtful gift for their loved ones, but it brought their winter styling together seamlessly.
For a touch of rustic luxury, we also incorporated statement signage into their wedding day, keeping the designs modern and minimalist to complement with their gorgeous wedding venue. A bold navy-blue sign greeted their friends and family on arrival, adorned with seasonal flowers rich in berry tones. Their seating plan, in forest green, was surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight and deep red draping – the perfect nod to a romantic Christmas love story. As a wedding stationer, I often find these larger pieces of stationery create styling focal points without taking away from the original features of the venue. I have plenty of large statement boards that can be hired out for your very own wedding day too!
Ella and James were a joy to work with. They completely embraced the idea that wedding stationery sets the scene for a celebration, and their laidback yet creative approach allowed me to totally work my magic. It’s always so special when couples are open to ideas, as it allows me to create something deeply personal and memorable – including 100 bespoke Christmas crackers!
If you are planning your wedding and looking for bespoke, thoughtful creations that add meaning and style to every moment of your wedding, I would love to hear from you. As a wedding stationer in the Cotswolds, I work closely with every couple to create stationery that feels personal, unique and always unforgettable.
