It's a hand-drawn illustration of your wedding venue – drawn by me, on my iPad, in the same soft watercolour style you'll see across my bespoke work – sent to you as a digital file to use on your own wedding stationery. No templates, no filters over a photograph. Every line is drawn by hand, so you get the charm of a bespoke illustration with the freedom to design everything else yourself.

Honestly? Almost anywhere. Your Save the Dates, invitations, menus, Order of the Day, table plan, thank you cards, even your wedding website. Using one illustration across everything is the secret to stationery that looks beautifully cohesive – like it was all designed together (because it was!).
Insider Tips: How to Make DIY Stationery Look Bespoke
Now for the nuggets of gold. These are the little things that make the biggest difference:
Give your illustration room to breathe. It's tempting to fill every corner, but white space is what makes a design feel elegant. Let your venue be the star and keep the wording simple around it.
Pull your colours from the drawing. Pick one or two shades from the illustration – the green of the trees, the warm tone of the stonework – and use them for your fonts and details. Instantly cohesive.
Stick to two fonts, max. One pretty script for your names, one classic serif for the details. Any more and things start to feel busy.
Choose a good, heavy card. Paper weight makes a huge difference to how your stationery feels in your guests' hands. A thicker card says 'luxury' before they've even read a word.
Print a test copy first. Colours can look different on screen than on paper, so always print one before you commit to the full batch.
Add one finishing touch. A wax seal, a silk ribbon or a vellum wrap can elevate even the simplest design – and give your guests that 'oooooh' moment when it lands on their doormat.
