The Importance of Bespoke Wedding Stationery with Lauren Daisy

When you’re busy daydreaming about your wedding day, it’s easy to focus on the big moments, such as the ceremony, the cake-cutting and the first dance (the list goes on). But what truly sets the tone, before anything even takes place, is your wedding stationery. To some, your wedding invitation is just a pretty piece of paper, and while it really is pretty, it’s also much more than that. Your wedding stationery can be an experience for your guests, building excitement and anticipation before the big day finally rolls around. And it also offers an opportunity to showcase your personalities and your love for one another.

Let’s Start with Save the Dates

The journey to, β€˜We Do’ begins with your Save the Date cards, allowing your loved ones ample amounts of time to put the date in their diaries and to plan any necessary arrangements such as annual leave, childcare, accommodation or travel. But the design of your Save the Date cards is also working in the background to set the scene for your friends and family, offering a peek of your colour palette or perhaps the flowers you’ll be using. Even a subtle illustration can offer a nod towards a sentimental moment – something that makes your guests say, β€œthat’s so them.”

It's those little details that elevate the experience of your wedding stationery for your guests to savour. The enjoyment of unwrapping a beautiful velvet ribbon before they unveil the details of your big day, the indulgence of a luxury wax seal securing the envelope, or a vellum wrap that makes your Save the Date card feel like much more than a date and a location. And as your wedding draws closer, those little details become even more significant, guiding your loved ones throughout not only your planning journey but the day itself. From the welcome sign that frames the entrance of your venue through to the Order of Service that illustrates the timeline of your wedding, it all contributes towards the magic that your guests will feel.

Having fun with wedding stationery

Some elements of your wedding stationery are essential – such as the RSVP information or the place names that show your friends and family to their seats with ease. But there’s something rather lovely about having the chance to make it look as beautiful as it is informative! As a wedding stationer, I love nothing more than getting creative and having fun with stationery in terms of the design and the way it’s displayed. A seating plan doesn’t just have to be a seating plan – instead, it can be an immersive experience and a statement part of your wedding decor (you’ll see exactly what I mean when you look at my Instagram page). Your place names don’t just have to be a β€˜name’ – they can be something that your guests know you love, that in turn makes each guest feel hugely special. People love thoughtful details and it’s your opportunity to show them how valued they are.

The Perfect Keepsake

Your wedding stationery can also be a heartfelt keepsake that you can enjoy long after the big day is over. Couples have taken home banners used as backdrops that feature their favourite quote, displaying them proudly in their living rooms as part of their interior design. Your β€˜Wedding Timeline’ can be framed and hung on the wall so that every time you walk past it, you can reminisce about what a wonderful day it was!

I pride myself on creating more than simply wedding stationery – it’s an experience for both you and your guests. From handwritten envelopes to gate-fold invitations, each element of your wedding stationery is tailored just for you, with the love, passion and care of a wedding stationer who is just as excited about your love story as you are!
