Behind the Scenes: The Bespoke Wedding Stationery Experience with Lauren Daisy
Your wedding stationery is so much more than just paper – it’s a reflection of your love story, your personalities, and the mood you want to create for your big day. And that’s exactly why bespoke stationery matters. No two designs are ever the same, because no two couples are the same. Each wedding is unique, and your stationery should be too.
I love taking couples behind the scenes of their stationery journey – not just to show the finished pieces, but to reveal the thought, creativity, and care that goes into every detail.
Here’s a peek at how a bespoke design comes to life with me:
1. Consultation: Getting to Know You
It all begins when a couple gets in touch. The first step is a relaxed consultation – often over Zoom – where we chat about your vision, your venue, your colour palette, and the details that are important to you. Do you want your stationery to feel whimsical, luxe, modern, or timeless? Are there elements of your relationship you’d like to subtly reflect in the design? What are your likes and dislikes?
For example, I recently worked with a couple whose wedding was at a rustic country barn. They loved the soft pastel vibe with wildflowers, and wanted to personalise it with an illustration of their dog. Understanding these little details ensures that every piece of stationery feels truly them.
2. Design: Where Creativity Takes Shape
Now the real fun begins. The design stage is where ideas start to take shape, and every element is carefully considered. There are no templates, no shortcuts – just creativity and craftsmanship. Each line, font, illustration, and detail is tailored to your vision, whether it’s a hand-painted floral motif, a custom wax seal, or layered menus with silk ribbons.
This stage is where your stationery truly becomes yours, and where the bespoke magic starts to shine. At this stage you can also make an tweaks you wish with your two rounds of amends to make it truly yours’s
3. Proofing: Perfecting Every Detail
Once the design is drafted, I send over a digital proof. This is your chance to check everything – wording, layout, colours – and request any changes. I include two rounds of amendments to ensure that every element is exactly as you imagined it.
This process might feel meticulous, but it’s so important. It ensures that when your stationery lands in your hands, it’s flawless – a piece of your wedding day that feels intentional, considered, and entirely unique.
4. Print & Finishing: Adding the Handmade Touch
Finally, it’s time for the pieces to come to life. Everything is hand-finished in my home studio – from tying ribbons and adding wax seals to assembling envelopes. This is where the stationery becomes tangible, and where you can see all the planning, creativity, and attention to detail transform into something beautiful you can hold.
The Lauren Daisy Experience
Working with me is more than just ordering stationery – it’s a collaborative, creative journey that’s part of your wedding planning experience. I love getting to know couples, hearing their stories, and bringing their vision to life in ways they might never have imagined. Seeing their excitement when the finished pieces arrive is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
